A new wine for us, the 2021 Corbeau Rusé is a blend of Grenache (60%), Syrah (30%) and Viognier (7%) with a little Zinfandel (3%) added for brightness. The wine delights with aromas of red fruit tart, plum and sweet Gardenias, generously followed by luscious flavors of blueberry, black cherry, and ripe fig, on a silky palate of harmonious fluidity and balance, finishing with an intriguing combination of thyme and gamey allspice.
With its mountain vineyards rising as high as 3000 ft., Lake County is renowned for producing full-bodied, beautifully balanced Cabernets. Our Dancing Crow Cabernet Sauvignon shows aromas of cassis and mocha, followed by luscious flavors of ripe cherry, blueberry and dark chocolate.
This genuinely unique offering is an Old World-style "Field Blend" from 120-year-old vines, comprised of over 24 California heritage grape varieties, which are co-fermented to create this rare wine. The Old Stake 1901 shows generous ripe plum and cranberry flavors, with a hint of dried clove and lavender on the finish. "It's like drinking history."
On the nose, the Dancing Crow Cabernet highlights the power and elegance of Lake County. Aromas of ripe cherry and plump, fresh fig are elevated by flavors of purple plum and wild raspberry, culminating with cocoa-like tannins and a hint of milk chocolate on the long, smooth finish.
